I do hope the podcasts remain for future generations to listen to. They were a staple of my Saturday mornings for many years. I'm going to miss this greatly on the radio. It was a full circle moment to say the least. The service was in the same church we rented. And a few years ago when Tommy died my brother and I listened to the tribute show on our way down to Seattle to say goodbye to our Aunt who passed away. When I lived in Victoria I would tape the episodes and send them back to Edmonton for my brother to listen to before the Internet became a real thing. Two brothers giving advice (both brilliant and boooooooooogus) appealed to us greatly. But then Ray told a caller who bought a junker with a long list of problems to rent a back-hoe, dig a hole about 16' long by 6' wide, 6' deep and to push the car into the hole and burry it. We had never heard of this show and we were a little astounded at the advice they were giving to what sounded like well-meaning people with real car problems. ![]() ![]() At one point I tuned into NPR affiliate KPLU and the melodious sound of the Magliozzi brothers made me stop searching for music. We rented a church kitchen and for a couple of days before the reception we prepped a whole lot of food. ![]() My brother and I came down from Canada to cater my cousin's wedding in 1993 in Seattle.
